1. Koh Samui Island
Stay
About the destination: Koh Samui, nestled in the Gulf of Thailand, is a tropical island that blends palm-fringed beaches, lush jungle, and a relaxed yet lively atmosphere. Once a quiet haven for fishermen and backpackers, it has grown into a versatile destination that caters to honeymooners, families, wellness seekers, and adventure travelers alike. The island’s coastline is dotted with white-sand bays and turquoise waters, while the interior hides coconut plantations, waterfalls, and panoramic viewpoints. Most visitors base themselves in Chaweng or Lamai, the two busiest beach towns. Chaweng offers the liveliest nightlife on the island, with beachfront bars, clubs, and restaurants, as well as a long stretch of sand ideal for swimming and sunbathing. Lamai is slightly more laid-back but still has plenty of dining, shopping, and entertainment options. For a quieter stay, consider Bophut’s Fisherman’s Village, known for its chic yet relaxed vibe, or Maenam and Lipa Noi, where the atmosphere remains calm and family-friendly. Beyond the beaches, Koh Samui offers a rich mix of cultural and natural attractions. Visit the Big Buddha Temple (Wat Phra Yai) and Wat Plai Laem to admire intricate statues and learn about local Buddhist traditions. Nature lovers can explore Na Muang waterfalls, hike jungle trails, or join boat trips to nearby Koh Phangan and the spectacular Ang Thong Marine National Park, famous for its emerald lagoons and limestone cliffs. The island is also a popular wellness hub, with numerous yoga retreats, spa resorts, and detox programs. Getting around is relatively easy: taxis and songthaews (shared pickup trucks) are plentiful, and many visitors rent scooters or cars to explore at their own pace. The climate is generally warm year-round, with the driest months typically from January to April. Whether you’re looking to unwind on a quiet beach, indulge in Thai and international cuisine, or fill your days with activities on land and sea, Koh Samui offers a well-rounded island experience that can be as serene or as energetic as you choose.

2. Pai
Stay
About the destination: Pai is an attraction where tourists can find interesting activities both day and night. During the day visit Phra Thad Mae Yen temple, soak in mineral water from Tha Pai natural hot spring and see the historical bridge, which is not far from the hot spring. If you enjoy taking photos, you can walk to coffee in love, eat delicious pork shank at the Chinese Yoon Nan village, you can ride an elephant or at sit at your leisure and see Pai canal on a bamboo raft. A highlight of the evenings that tourists never miss is going to Pai walking street. Here, crowded with tourists browse the souvenirs including original works of art from top grade artists gathering in this small town. The night atmosphere of Pai is cool. Walking street is decorated with hanging lamps to add color to the dark sky. The traders here are cheerful and friendly to tourists. There are various products sold all along the two sides of this street such as clothes, accessories and chic designed postcards. The side shops are also decorated nicely so that some people cannot help taking photos of these buildings as a keepsake. On Pai walking street, gather various types of art and culture together. There is local music such as fiddles and a show of teenagers presenting the Fon Nok sword dance from the Shan ethnic group. There are also shows from the hill tribes dancing to their own songs. This would not be Thailand without a delicious array of food and Pai does not disappoint. There are many tasty foods such as Ka Nom Jin Nang Yong. If it is cool, there is also hot Kao Pook Nga from the oven that is different taste from others. There is refreshing herbal juice in a bamboo flask, you can walk while drinking. Pai although a small town has such a lot to offer and an evening stroll at the walking street offers fun, relaxation and a host of interesting products to tempt the visitor.
